What was on at WAF 2017?
The World Architecture Festival is where the world architecture community meets to celebrate learn, exchange and be inspired. It is the only architecture event where keynote talks from the industry’s most influential figures sit alongside live crit presentations and judging of over 400 award finalists, global networking, a 500 project strong gallery and an international product exhibition. World Architecture Festival 2017 took place on the 15 - 17 November at the Arena Berlin, Germany, here are some of the highlights.

WAF’s Berlin city tours opened up new Berlin perspectives by presenting cutting-edge art spaces and hard-to-find architecture gems
The Festival Hall was the hub of WAF where attendees met with leading suppliers, saw live demonstrations and visited the WAF bars!
We celebrated and networked at the grand finale on the final evening at the exciting Postbahnhof venue!
Attendees experienced the breadth of international architectural excellence in the WAF Festival Gallery; More thank 400 projects were displayed for the duration of the festival.
Brought to you by Make, Sir John Soane's Museum and WAF, this prize recognised the continuing importance of hand drawing but also embraced creative use of digitally produced renderings.
The world's most popular and prestigious awards for young architects, the AR Emerging Architecture Awards took place at WAF in 2017.
Speakers' and Judges' Lounge
Supported by ABB, the speakers' and judges' lounge allowed them to recharge whilst getting a birdseye view of the festival.
We celebrated 2017's well-deserved finalists at the official shortlist reception, plus 2017 marked WAF's 10 year anniversary
Festival Hall talks focused on working globally, cutting-edge technology and innovative materials.
Attendees got two events in one. WAF's sister festival INSIDE World Festival of Interiors took place at the same times as WAF, with WAF passes providing access to both!
The Merck Crystal Pavilion Competition
Merck, in association with World Architecture Festival and the Architectural Review, launched a competition for architecture students registered with any architectural school in the world.
Attendees joined us for a welcome drinks reception at the Catalonia Berlin Mitte Hotel.
As well as seeing all of the shortlisted practices present their project live, WAF offered a unique chance to meet and gain inspiration from the world's best architects.
Attendees met with WAF's many media partners and collected their free publications in the media gallery, including The Architectural Review, Dezeen and ArchDaily.
