Dr. ZHOU Zhengxu is an previews WAF award-winning scholar and Associate Professor in the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University, where he received Bachelor in Architecture and Doctor of Engineering in Urban and Rural Planning. He specializes in the planning and design of traditional village preservation, especially in mountain settlements in southwest China. He is currently a visiting professor of the Special Program for Urban and Regional Studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, exploring the role of architecture in addressing regional poverty.
