Ferrier Marchetti Studio , Co- Founder
Pauline Marchetti is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville
and a qualified architect, as well as a professor at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs
Her practice is rooted in a humanist approach, developing design and production methods based on
the sensory and humanist dimensions of space - volume, materiality, light, moods. She conceived
Sensual City as an incubator for the reflective journey and development process vital for the
successful realisation of projects. She has championed highly collaborative inter-disciplinary working
with a team including architects, designers, a philosopher, behavioural psychologist and a geographer.
She first worked with Jacques Ferrier in 2010 when they collaborated on the hugely successful French
Pavilion for the World Expo in Shanghai, since when they have developed a significant portfolio of
projects combining research and architecture.
The work of the studio has been the subject of several dedicated international exhibitions including
‘Impressionismus at the Architektur Galerie, Berlin; ‘Non oppressive Design’ at the DOKK1 in Aarhus
and ‘A vision for the Sensual City’ in Manila, Singapore, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.
Jacques Ferrier and Pauline lectures widely, notably at the Harward Design School, University of
Columbia, and the AIA Center of Architecture. Their work have been published in a wide range of
prestigious supports, including and lot limited to Arca International, Details, National Geographic and
the Time Magazine.
