City of Helsinki , Deputy Mayor for Urban Environment
Anni Milja Maaria Sinnemäki (born 20 July, 1973, Helsinki) is the Deputy Mayor of Helsinki, responsible for Urban Environment (including city planning and real estate). She represents the Greens.
Mrs. Sinnemäki was Member of Finnish parliament for 15 years (1999-2015) and the Minister of Labour for two years (2009-2011) in Government of Finland.
She has been a member of the Helsinki City Council from 2005 to early 2015 and again from June 2017. From 2015 to May 2017 she was the Deputy Mayor of Helsinki, responsible for City planning and Real Estate.
Anni Sinnemäki holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Helsinki from year 2001, Russian literature as her main subject.
She is Interested in building sustainable cities, public transport, urban nature, citizen participation, active citizenship and tackling climate change. In addition to this, she is a poet with two published anthologies and pop lyrics.
