Karen Forbes works at the intersection of art and architecture. Major projects include the international award-winning Evolution Tower, Moscow which she designed jointly with Tony Kettle. Her work is at a range of scales from high rise, to small scale such as Sea House, Port Lligat and The Solar Pavilion for the Edinburgh Festival. Books include: Locus of the City, VARIE, Fold-Out Futures, RMIT and Site Specific, Oro Editions, San Francisco. Forbes lectures internationally including Delft TU, University of Amsterdam, UNIDEE Biele, CTBUH Venice, Metasenta, Melbourne and SoAI Chicago. She is Professor of Art at the University of Edinburgh, Research Director of Luma Interactive since 2014 and a Cabinet Appointment to the Board of Creative Scotland. As part of Luma Interactive she contributed to the development of Sluisbuurt Masterplan 2015-2018, under the leadership of Mirjana Milanovic for the City of Amsterdam.
