Stepan has experience working on cultural, educational and adaptive-reuse projects. He is currently leading the creation of a kinetic glasshouse in West Sussex, UK, and has recently completed the award-winning Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town, reinventing an historic grain silo into a major new cultural institution. Stepan joined Heatherwick Studio in 2011. He was previously project architect at Virai Arquitectos, Spain, on completed projects including ‘La Grajera´, the institutional winery for the Riojan government. He was responsible for construction detailing and interior facade solutions. He was also involved in a cafe renovation inside the Spanish national bank headquarters. Stepan also worked at Vysehrad Atelier, Prague, on a conversion of a courtyard into a central multifunctional hall for the Czech Technical University. The project was awarded the National Gran Prix for interiors in 2011.
