Bratislav is Principal architect and Partner at Parviainen Architects, based in Helsinki, Finland. Born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1960 he graduated 1985 at Belgrade University, Faculty of Architecture. He began his career teaching at Department of Architecture, University of Mosul, Iraq after which he moved permanently to Finland, joined the practice Parviainen Architects in 1988 and became Partner in 2003. For over thirty years Bratislav has worked extensively with wide range of projects such as:, commercial, display, health, hotel, leisure, office, production and air terminal projects. His architectural approach emerges from conceiving each project as a placemaking task with a unique identity as the goal. He was awarded in numerous architectural competitions in Finland and abroad. Bratislav’s design for the Länsisalmi Power Station was awarded the Marigold prize as the best building in Vantaa, Finland in 2018 and was the Category Winner at the 2018 WAF. Bratislav has won three times the Serbian Architects Association’s Annual Award for the best project realized by a Serbian architect abroad. His project for the Ca’ Venier Palace was chosen to be exposed at the Venice Bienalle of Architecture 1985. His completed competition winning project for Metso Automation Offices was published by the Museum of Finnish Architecture in the Finnish Architecture Catalogue and was also featured in the book Office Buildings in Finland. Bratislav has on numerous occasions been giving lectures at Aalto University, Finland and at Faculty of Architecture at the Belgrade University, Serbia. He has also been jury member for several architectural competitions.
