Yarinda Bunnag is an architect based in Bangkok, Thailand. Bunnag teaches at the International Program in Design and Architecture (INDA), Chulalongkorn University, and is the Design Director of Hypothesis Design Agency, a multidisciplinary practice specializing in architecture, interior, and corporate branding. The works of Hypothesis cover a broad range of programs including residential, commercial, educational, as well as mixed use projects. Hypothesis have garnered numerous awards both locally as well as internationally, including the prestigious INSIDE awards from World Festival of Interiors, the Architectural Review Future Projects award, as well as the ‘Designer of the Year’ award from Thailand Interior Designer Association. Bunnag received a Master in Architecture from Harvard University, Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University. During her studies, Bunnag received several prizes including the American Institute of Architects school medal and certificate of merit for excellence in the study of architecture, the Baccalaureate Award for excellence in scholarship, and the James Templeton Kelley Prize for the best final design project by a master of architecture candidate at Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2012. In conjunction with architectural practice and teaching, Bunnag has also interviewed a broad range of contemporary practitioners, including Rirkrit Tiravanija, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Wisut Ponnimit, and Prapakorn Watanyakul for the interview show “Is, Am, Are” on Thai PBS. Bunnag is currently serving as the Regional President of the Asia Designer Communication Platform.
