WZWX architecture group
Richard is the founding partner of WZWX architecture group. He directs WZWX's planning, architectural, interior and furniture design components. WZWX was the winner of the retail category at the 2017 Inside Awards. Since the firm’s establishment in 2014 in China and Taiwan, it has won various architecture and interior design awards, including the Cross Straight Architectural Competition (Hong Kong Institute of Architects), Best Retail Design in Asia Pacific Region (International Interior Design Association), Red Dot Award, iF Design Award, 2 German Design Awards, and the Asia Pacific Property Award. Richard has previously worked for OMA in Rotterdam, and with Alvaro Siza in China. He holds a PhD in urban planning from the Bartlett School of Planning (UCL, London), a Masters in Architecture & Urbanism from the Architectural Association (London), and a Bachelor or Architecture from the University of Auckland (New Zealand). Besides practicing architecture, Richard also teaches urban planning at Tongji University in Shanghai (since 2012), and is an Honorary Research Associate at the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London (since 2011).
