Coronavirus Update - World Architecture Festival still planned for December, but additional time to submit your entries
With our annual Festival scheduled for 2 – 4 December, in Lisbon, we are preparing for the event in the usual way whilst continually reviewing additional health and safety measures. Architects from across the globe are continuing to submit their online awards entries as usual. We are fully aware that the current situation may be causing disruption to your practice and have therefore amended our entry deadlines to the following:
Final entry deadline: 14 AUGUST
Enter by the 17 July to save £50 – using code WAF50
The shortlisting of award entries is now scheduled to take place in September. We will ensure all shortlisted entrants have a fair chance in the live judging. If countries continue to have travel restrictions we will ensure your project is still seen by our judges. All entries will also be listed on the World Buildings Directory once entries have closed, even if you are not shortlisted this year.
Mindful of the effect of the Coronavirus on communities across the world, and along with all responsible event organisers, we are monitoring the situation in respect of our responsibilities towards delegates, exhibitors and staff. Please see below further details of health and safety measures that will be in place at the festival. WAF’s parent company, EMAP, is committed to the highest standards of health and safety at all its events, and we will give comprehensive advice, as needed, in respect of WAF 2020.
We look forward to receiving award entries in the normal way; for information the number of completed entries so far this year replicates 2019 figures.
We hope that you and your practice are coping as well as possible in current circumstances, and offer our best wishes for a return to calmer times. Should you have any questions or concerns about your entry please contact us on email@example.com and a member of the team will happily call you back.
