For 19 years, the AR has raised the profile of talented architects under the age of 45 through the Emerging Architecture Awards, granting early recognition to young designers and catapulting them onto a global stage at a critical point in their career.
This is your opportunity to have a recently completed key project reviewed by the AR editors, who see every entry before choosing a shortlist to present to an esteemed judging panel in person. The winner will receive a £10,000 prize and receive extensive coverage online and in the pages of The Architectural Review.
This year the AR will be making a contribution to travel to WAF (depending on location), to present their projects to our jury on the 16th November. The finalists are then invited to join the editor of the AR, judges and sponsors at an exclusive dinner on the 15th, followed by a drinks reception on the 16th where the winner will be announced. On the following evening we will extend an invitation for the winner to attend the WAF Gala Dinner, where they will be re-presented with their prize in front of 800 senior architects from around the world.
This your chance to join the award’s alumni, which include Sou Fujimoto, Anna Heringer, Bjarke Ingels, Vo Trong Nghia, Thomas Heatherwick, Christ & Gantenbein and last year’s winner, Frida Escobedo. Last year’s judges, Valerio Olgiati, Benedetta Tagliabue and Charles Holland, were impressed by Escobedo’s dramatic remodelling of the studio of the late David Alfaro Siqueiros, Mexican muralist into a new museum in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
