Philip returns as a judge this year. In 2024, his project, Meru, based in Mombasa Kenya was announced as a category winner in the Future projects - House division. In 2022 he co-presented One, a Multi Residential project in Dakar, Senegal. In 2018, his team’s project, Neuländer Quarry (Hamburg), received a highly commended mention.

As a Professional Architect and Senior Associate at SAOTA, based in Cape Town, he has extensive experience working on high-end residential, mixed-use, and large-scale international projects across Africa, Europe, South Asia and the Middle East. Philip’s work spans over concept design, competition submissions, and project delivery, with a strong focus on conceptual rigor and buildability. He brings a considered, analytical approach to architecture, informed by both design excellence and practical implementation.
