It has been amazing to be part of the WAF award winning team. When you look across the range and quality of projects put forward for the WAF Awards, to be short listed and then become associated with the overall winner is a momentous achievement for Grant Associates.

La Vanguardia, the Barcelona based newspaper, has an interview with Norman Foster on its centre spread today, trailed on the front with a large photo of him, saying that it was taken at WAF.
Headlined 'Signature architects do not have universal solutions', the article says that Foster spoke with the discretion and prudence of a prime minister. He criticised the efforts of other Spanish cities to create a 'Bilbao effect´.
Madrid-based El Pais also has a large article about the Festival, highlighting the Spanish category winner, the restoration of the controlled rubbish dump at 'La Vall den Joan' by Batlle & Roig Architects.
Festival director Paul Finch said: 'It is excellent that WAF is getting such widespread coverage. It shows the significance of the event, not just in Spain but throughout the world. I am delighted that there is a growing awareness of the important of architecture to people.''
